Excursion 1: RONDA TOUR
Despite being Andalusia’s fastest-growing town, Ronda retains much of its historic charm. Famous worldwide for its dramatic views and the El Tajo gorge through which the River Guadalevín flows, Ronda is well worth a visit. The 18th century Puente Nuevo, which straddles the 100m gorge, is a must for visitors for its unparalleled views.
The drive up from the coast is through the impressive Serrania de Ronda mountain range. On arrival, there is a short walking tour including a visit to the famous bullring, one of the oldest in Spain, which also houses a small museum as well as the Cathedral. After which there is free time to experience and discover Ronda – the Museo de Bandoleros (Bandit Museum) is also located here.
